Just blah.

I have been seriously sleep deprived for the last two weeks, but that’s about to come to an end. Unfortunately, in order to deliver cookies to the people of the barony at 1:00 in Frederick, I need to still wake up at a reasonable time, and there won’t be much sleep involved Saturday night since we’re staying at Jason’s sister’s. On a better note, I’ll get to hang out with Steve on base and figure out his new game.
The kids’ Christmas party was last night. Since we didn’t have a tree, I painted their name on cute stockings from the Dollar Tree and put all their presents in those. Then I drew a fireplace on paper left over from the newspaper roll-ends and hung the stockings around it. The kids all loved their gifts. I made green melon-flavored Jello jigglers and cut them with Christmas tree cookie cutters, then put each one on the top half of a little plate with sprinkles on top (decorations) and whipped cream (snow) under the “trunk.” It was cute and went over quite well. Never has green jello tasted so good. We gathered around on the beanbags and read the Christmas story, which several of them had never heard, and played Christmas bingo with popcorn as place markers.
Easy, low-key parties. That’s what I’m talking about.
